2nd Order LLC · Slope & Trace

01. About this policy

2nd Order LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Wyoming, United States limited liability company that makes Slope and Trace. This policy describes information handled through our apps, our company website, Slope’s website, and communications with us. App-specific sections explain differences between products. Future apps will be added when their practices have been reviewed.

02. The short version

Your personal behavior records are stored locally in the current apps. Slope can send limited product analytics, including broad habit categories depending on your privacy setting. Trace’s current implementation does not send your records or patterns to us. Information you email to us, website traffic information, and information submitted through Slope’s website are handled separately, as described below.

03. Slope: local records and optional analytics

Slope stores your custom habit names, exact schedules, check-ins, detours, notes, and settings on your device. It uses these records for plans, progress displays, reminders, and exports. Local notifications are managed on your device; you can change notification permission in iOS Settings.

Slope offers privacy levels in its settings: fully local, product analytics, and category insights. In the current version, category insights is the default when no choice has been saved. Choosing fully local stops future app analytics; it does not automatically remove information already received.

When analytics are enabled, Slope can send app interactions, app version, general plan settings, and grouped progress summaries. Category insights can also include your broad selected habit category, which may reveal sensitive interests or behavior. Custom names, notes, exact schedules, and exact check-in or detour timestamps are excluded from these analytics.

Analytics use random installation and plan identifiers to group events. These identifiers are not your name or Apple ID, but they can link activity over time; we do not treat them as a guarantee of anonymity. Slope’s configured analytics services include PostHog and a product analytics endpoint.

04. Trace: records and patterns

Trace’s current implementation requires no account and stores impulse records, labels, intensity, context, responses, preferences, and computed patterns locally. It does not include a custom cloud-sync service or send these records to analytics or remote AI services. Installing both apps does not give either app access to the other’s private records.

You can export records, delete individual entries, or use Trace’s delete-all control. Exported files are sent only to the destination you select. Deleting app records does not delete copies you previously exported or copies in device backups.

05. Device backups and exports

Local storage does not mean information can never leave your device. Depending on your Apple and device settings, app data may be included in device or iCloud backups. Apple handles those backups under its own terms. Exports may be stored or shared through services you choose. You are in control of those copies; use their settings to manage access or delete them.

06. Our websites

The 2nd Order LLC website uses PostHog with the same configuration as Slope’s website: page views, page exits, and automatic interaction capture; a random browser identifier stored in local storage rather than analytics cookies; and respect for Do Not Track. The sites currently send events to the same PostHog project. Technical information can include page URLs, referrers, browser and device details, approximate location, and link interactions. We do not ask visitors to identify themselves for analytics and do not use it for advertising. Browser identifiers can still link visits over time. The parent website has email links rather than a contact form or mailing list. Our WordPress host and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser details, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. WordPress administration uses cookies for functions such as signing in. This policy will be updated if additional website features change how information is handled.

Slope’s separate website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and PostHog for traffic and interaction analytics. Its PostHog implementation uses browser local storage for an identifier and honors Do Not Track. Its Cloudflare analytics integration does not use analytics cookies. Technical information can include pages viewed, referrers, browser and device details, and approximate location. We do not use these integrations for advertising.

07. Slope’s calculator emails and updates

If you request a calculator plan by email on Slope’s website, your email address and plan inputs are processed by the delivery service to generate and send the plan. The service uses an email provider; the current implementation uses Resend. The delivery service does not store the generated PDF. Temporary hashed identifiers help limit repeated requests, and Cloudflare Turnstile helps prevent automated abuse.

A separate, optional selection subscribes you to product updates. Plan details are not added to the updates list. You can unsubscribe through the link in an updates email. Requesting a plan does not require subscribing to updates.

08. Contact and support

When you email info@2ndorderllc.com or an app support address, we and our email provider process your address, message, attachments, and correspondence to respond and provide support. Please share only the information needed for your request. We cannot inspect locally stored app records unless you choose to send them to us.

09. Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases. We do not receive your full payment card details or Apple ID password. Apps may receive transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock, restore, or validate paid features. Apple processes purchase information under its own privacy policy.

10. How information is used and shared

We use information to provide requested features and support, deliver emails, understand product use where analytics are enabled, maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Providers process information to supply hosting, email, analytics, security, and payment services. Information may also be disclosed when legally required, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable law. We do not sell personal information or use behavior records for targeted advertising.

11. Retention and security

Local records remain until you remove them, subject to backups and exports. Support correspondence, delivery records, security logs, and analytics are retained only as needed for their stated purposes and applicable legal obligations. Provider retention settings and deletion procedures apply to information held by those providers. We use reasonable safeguards, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.

12. Your choices and privacy requests

You can manage Slope’s analytics settings, control notification permissions, delete local records, manage device backups, unsubscribe from updates, and contact us about information you have provided. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Email info@2ndorderllc.com to make a request. We may need to verify your request and cannot retrieve records held only on your device. A random analytics identifier may be needed to locate analytics records.

13. Children and international processing

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it. App Store age ratings and applicable local requirements also apply. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own; applicable legal protections and transfer requirements depend on your location and the service involved.

14. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our practices change and identify the effective date of the published version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent. For privacy questions, contact 2nd Order LLC at info@2ndorderllc.com.
